This 8 Days Uganda Safari takes you to three amazing national parks in Uganda. Start your trip from Kigali and then explore Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, part of the Virunga Conservation Area. Then continue to Bwindi and track the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Continue to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, a world biosphere reserve that hosts incredible wildlife. You will enter the park through the Ishasha Sector famous for hosting the tree climbing lions. After an amazing safari, continue to Lake Bunyonyi, a beautiful lake in the Kigezi highlands that has been nicknamed the “Switzerland of Africa”.

Day 1: Pickup from Kigali. Travel to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Overnight at Kisoro Travelers Rest Hotel (Budget) / Lake Mulehe Lodge (Midrange) / Mount Gahinga Lodge (Luxury)
Day 2: Track the golden monkeys in Mgahinga. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Day 4: Nature Walks & Community Tour in Bwindi
Day 5: Depart for Queen Elizabeth national Park through the Ishasha Sector.

Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup from Kigali Airport.
Pickup from Kigali International Airport. Take breakfast, Refresh and get briefed about the trip. Visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site. Travel to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The journey will take you past the Volcanoes National Park of Rwanda and you will have a stopover at the Twin Lakes. Cross the border via the Cyanika Border. Overnight at Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge
Day 2: Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Bwindi
After breakfast, go for golden monkey tracking in the Mgahinga National Park. After the trek, have lunch. Travel to Buhoma in northern Bwindi, a UNESCO world heritage site protecting almost half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. You will travel through the rural countryside of Uganda before you reach Buhoma, the pioneer sector for gorilla tourism in Uganda. You will reach Bwindi in the evening. Overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Guided by park rangers, you will start the hike into the forest to start the search for the mountain gorillas. Gorilla Tracking can take 2-8 hours depending on the movements of the gorilla family that you will be assigned to track. Gorilla Tracking involves walking up steep and densely forested hills before finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation.
Upon meeting the great apes, you will stay with these giant apes for 1 hour for observation and photography. After the trek, return to the lodge to catch a hot meal. Relax at the lodge or take a community tour in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge
Day 4: Experience Bwindi
Take a nature walk within Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The nature walk takes you to the beautiful falls of Lake Munyaga. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Batwa Community of Buhoma.
Day 5: Wild Safari Experience through the Ishasha
Breakfast. Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a world biosphere reserve with an amazing array of flora and fauna.
Take a game drive through the Ishasha Sector. The game drive will be through the savanna plains. Try out your luck to look out for the tree-climbing lions. You will have lunch enroute. Overnight at Bush Lodge
Day 6: Wildlife Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Take a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a water getaway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. There are many animals that can be seen from the launch cruise and the boat ride will enable you several animals and birds.
Sum up the day with an evening game drive in the park. Overnight at Bush Lodge
Day 7: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Travel to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda. Have lunch. Take a boat cruise along Lake Bunyonyi. Visit one of the islands within the lake. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort (Budget)
Day 8: Travel to Kigali
After breakfast, travel back to Rwanda. You will cross the border via the Katuna Border. Drop off at the airport.
