Makonzi Michael Kiwanuka

Managing Director
Makonzi Michael Kiwanuka is the founder and managing director of Go Gorilla Trekking. He holds a Bachelors of Tourism (Honors) of Makerere University. He has over 12 years working experience in East Africa’s tourism Industry. He worked with Abacus African Vacations and Adventure Trails before founding Go Gorilla Trekking. He also has much interest in Heritage Tourism and Ecotourism in East Africa.

Michael welcomes you to the thrilling gorilla treks in Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo. With his expertise in tailor-making journeys, at times he will be involved in planning possible new adventures for Africa visitors.

Nsangi Ruth – Reservations Manager

Ruth is the Tour Reservations Manager of Go Gorilla Trekking Ltd. She holds a Bachelors of Tourism Degree of Makerere University. She has over 7 years experience working with several organizations; under the State Minister of Tourism of Uganda Safaris before joining us in 2012. She is the person answering emails and advising clients on how to get the best out of their holidays. She also handles all bookings – gorilla permits, hotels, lodges, domestic flights and more.

Kalema Lawrence

Information Systems
Kalema Lawrence is the Information Systems Manager for Go Gorilla Trekking Ltd. With 2 years experience, Lawrence holds a degree of Bachelors of Information Systems from Makerere University. He has been with us for the past 4 years doing a lot of work in content creation – updating the website, adding photos, videos and more back office stuff. Lawrence has a lot of interest in Scientific Research into the world of Botany and Zoology, a great thing that is moving him forward.

Peter Nakibinge

Social Media Manager
Peter Dedr is the Social Media Manager for Go Gorilla Trekking Ltd. He has been working with us for the past 2 years. He is still in high school but his interest in marketing pulled him to us and he is the manager of all our social media communications.

Lubega Baker

Tour Guide
Lubega Baker (aka Bekka) is one of the best tour guides in Uganda & Rwanda. A graduate of Tourism from Makerere University, Baker has conducted several tours and is one of the best rated tour guides on Trip Advisor. He is knowledgeable not only about wildlife but also the history, heritage and current affairs of Africa.

Michael Kenneth Buyondo

Tour Guide
Michael Buyondo is a graduate of Bachelors of Business Administration. He joined Go Gorilla Trekking in 2015 and has conducted a good number of tours of Uganda and Rwanda. He is good at spotting wildlife in national parks in East Africa.

Lugwana Martin John

Tour Guide
Martin joined us in 2015 and is a graduate of Information Technology (ICT). His love for adventure pulled him to Go Gorilla Trekking and he has conducted several tours in Uganda and Rwanda. He loves wildlife and he has great interest in bird watching.
