This 3 Days Gorilla Safari starts from Goma in Eastern DR Congo.Our guide will pick you from Goma and drive you to Bukima Tented Camp. Go gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park, the oldest national park in Africa. Meet the endangered mountain gorillas in one of the habituated families in the Virunga.
The Virunga Park (Congo) consists of five gorilla families to date – three at Djomba-Bikele and three families at Bukima. A total of 20 persons can track at Djomba and another 20 at Bukima, thus up to 40 trackers can see gorillas daily in Congo.

Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrival and City Tour
Meet and greet at Goma Airport with our guide. You will be briefed about gorilla tracking in Virunga National Park. Transfer to Bukima Tented Camp. Dinner and Overnight Bukima Tented Camp (FB).
DAY 3: Gorilla Tracking in Congo
Transfer to the Park Headquarters to be briefed about gorilla etiquette before setting off into the forest to track gorillas in Parc National des Virunga of Congo. Gorilla tracking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, arduous and tiring, sometimes taking up to 8 hours in the forest. But coming face to face with the great primates is well worth the effort. Return to Uganda in the afternoon. Time willing either take a guided nature walk in Gahinga or climb a volcano, visit the natural, beautiful-looking Lake Mutanda, surrounded by the volcanoes, take a walk on the shores. Dinner and overnight at Travellers Rest Hotel (FB)
DAY 3: Back to Uganda
After breakfast, transfer to Goma for your flight.
We can also arrange a transfer to Bunagana for a Uganda safari or Gisenyi for a Rwanda safari.

To track gorillas each person must have the day’s gorilla permit which needs to be arranged and paid for in advance, preferably at least 10 months for the high seasons – June-September and December-February; or latest 4-6 months in advance for the low seasons – October-November and March-May.
